'Risk Team of the Year'

The Guild Risk Services team has won the prestigious ‘Risk Team of the Year' award at the annual Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance Awards.

This is the third time Guild has won this award in the five year history of the awards, which celebrate the outstanding achievements and professional excellence of companies and individuals in the insurance industry.

Guild Risk Services was honoured at the presentation gala at the Sydney Exhibition and Convention Centre on August 7, which attracted more than 700 insurance industry leaders and VIP guests, including keynote speaker The Hon Lindsay Tanner MP, Minister for Finance and Deregulation.

The judging panel were impressed by Guild's "strong focus on its customers" and the range of risk management solutions designed specifically to meet their needs.

Guild risk management initiatives cited by the panel as influential in the team's success include:-

  • Analysis of emerging risk trends
  • Industry focus groups
  • Delivering risk management presentations throughout Australia.
  • Submitting advice articles in professional journals.
  • Developing its online RiskMASTER tool, and
  • Chairing risk management committees in partnership with major client groups.

David Roddis, Group Risk Manager, accepted the award on behalf of his team.

"To win this time for the second year in a row is even better than the first. It demonstrates our strong customer focus and ongoing commitment to excellence in our field", said David.

"By working with professions and partnering with their Associations, we aim to create risk awareness and to continually improve risk management practice. This helps our clients uphold their professional reputations and the good standing of their professions. Look out for more risk management initiatives from our team in the year coming,"  Mr. Roddis said.

He not only acknowledged his dedicated Risk Services team, but also the support provided from all areas of the Group.

"Our goal is to continue to add value to the insurance product for our clients with our services. Working closely with Guild Insurance, and within the Guild Group, a place which actively encourages and delivers on customer service, both internally and externally, allows us to consistently reach this goal," said David.
