Motor Vehicle Insurance
To ensure you will find the level of protection to suit your car and budget, we offer three different levels of cover:
Composite Cover
Our premium cover protects your car against theft, accidents and malicious damage plus legal liability for damage to another person’s car and/or property.
Additional benefits at no extra cost:
- New-for-old replacement. If your car is a total loss and you purchased it ‘new’ less than one year ago, we’ll replace it with a new car of the same or similar make and model.
- Not your fault? No excess to pay. If we agree that the accident was not your fault and you can provide us with the name, address and registration number of the other driver, you won’t have to pay an excess.
- Hire car. We’ll organise a hire car for up to 14 days at no extra cost, if your car is stolen.
- 14 day changeover cover If you sell or trade-in your ‘old’ car and buy a ‘new’ one, we’ll cover both cars for 14 days. Windscreen or window glass replacement You’re entitled to one free windscreen or glass window replacement per year — with no excess to pay.
Third Party Fire and Theft Cover
We’ll pay the cost of repairing the other person’s vehicle or property but not your own, when it’s your fault. Plus, your car will be covered against fire and theft up to the value of $5,000.
Third Party Property Damage
This cover protects you against damage caused to another person’s car or property and in limited cases, injury to other people only.

Claims Assistance
If the unexpected happens and you need to make a claim, we’ll take care of you — after all that’s why you pay insurance!
You will be pleased to hear there is no ‘red tape’ at Guild because our priority is to get your home, contents or car repaired, rebuilt or replaced as quickly as possible.
Rest assured that, unlike some insurers, your claim will be managed personally by an experienced customer service representative at your nearest Guild office. We will support you every step of the way with a personalised service from the time you call to lodge your claim to organising the repairs. It’s the Guild way of doing business!
Our claims service offers the following benefits which enable you to:
- receive emergency assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- lodge your claim directly with your nearest Guild office, and
- choose your own repairer or alternatively we can organise a local repairer for you
