Newcastle & Central Coast Storms

An update for Guild Insurance clients.  

Storms that assaulted the Hunter Region and Central Coast during the Queen's Birthday long weekend in June are the worst ever seen in the area.

Over 350 claims have been lodged by Guild customers who suffered storm damage, and we are doing everything possible to help our customers at this time.

Staff at Guild Insurance's Newcastle office answered emergency calls on Sunday, 10th June, and the office was open on the Queen's Birthday holiday with all staff on hand to answer emergency calls and offer immediate phone assistance to our customers.

Proudly, we can report that:

  • Over 80% of customers who reported a claim in the first two days after the storms were visited by an assessor within the first week.

  • Any Guild customers who experienced ‘large' or ‘total' losses were visited within two days by an assessor, and emergency payments were made within 24 hours of a claim being lodged.

  • Critical claims have been prioritised and everyone is working hard to make sure our customers and their immediate needs are being taken care of.
