Guild Wins National Insurance Award
Guild Risk Services (GRS), the risk management arm of Guild Insurance, has won the 2007 Australian and New Zealand Insurance Industry Award for ‘Risk Team of The Year'. GRS had previously won this prestigious Award in 2005.
The accolade was announced on 2nd August at the Insurance Industry Awards Gala in Sydney, where Guild's innovative approach to risk management gained the judges' attention. Guild Risk Services attributed its win to its highly specialised approach, the commitment of its entire team and the support of its clients.
Leading the way with its dedication to education and the implementation of risk awareness initiatives, it was acknowledged that GRS has been ‘a driving force amongst its peers through the establishment of risk management committees with key professions; its distinctive GuildWatch publications; regular articles in over 50 professional journals and the online risk management tool, RiskMASTER'. GRS is also active in the Pharmacy Pandemic Working Group and the Insurance Council of Australia's Strategic Risk Working Group.
"Understanding that best practice can be vastly different across various professions forms the basis of our approach," said Group Risk Manager of Guild Insurance, David Roddis. "By tailoring our offering in consultation with professional associations we have been able to gain strong industry support for making positive, relevant change.
"The commitment of the associations we work with is very much a contributor to the risk-aware culture we embrace, and the risk adverse behaviours that result from collaboration and consultation.
"Essentially Guild Risk Services aims to provide tangible, relevant risk management services as a value add to Guild Insurance clients," explained Mr Roddis. "Our core function is to drive multi-layered risk reduction, education and assessment programs that are customised to suit every association Guild Insurance works with."
