My experience at Guild

Since starting in October 2019, I really enjoy my time at Guild. What I enjoy most about my role is our clients. The businesses that we look after do really great things for our community, so it is a pleasure being able to help them and provide support for their employees in preparing for their future.

Guild is different from other places I’ve worked with in a sense that both within our team and the wider GuildSuper business, I feel like everyone has the ability to feel like they’re really contributing to make the fund better rather than being just another cog in a big wheel. Opinions are taken on board and everyone has a really great respect for their colleagues.

With most of my team based in other states throughout my time at Guild, I have found it amazing how well we work together despite this. Recently, we had the chance to all catch up in person for some team bonding and many people were meeting for the first time. Instantly, we were able to form a close connection because of the effort everyone takes to get to know each other at a deeper level. This makes it so much easier to get work completed because of that mutual respect we have built up in a short space of time.

I feel that we have a really inclusive culture that allows people to be themselves and contribute to the business in their own style.

Outside of work...

Up until a few years ago, I had always played football but since then I have taken up running to keep myself fit. The physical benefits are great but, for me, the mental benefits are just as good and I love getting out in the morning to clear my head before the start of the day. I’ve completed 2 marathons so far and have got another one planned in the first half of this year.

My daughter, Billie, is turning 2 in a couple of months and becoming a Dad gives me the greatest sense of accomplishment every day. Nothing can top putting a smile on her face!

A fun fact about me is I collect stubby holders and have over 200 from all over the world!
